Staveley railway station is on the Lakes Line which runs between Windermere and Oxenholme (the Lake District). Oxenholme station is on the North West mainline. There is a direct service from Manchester Airport.

The Stagecoach Bus service 555 which runs between Lancaster and Keswick calls in at Staveley.

The Dales Way long distance footpath passes through the village.

Approaching Staveley on the Dales Way

Staveley in Westmorland is 4 miles north of Kendal just inside the Lake District National Park. By car it may be reached on the A591 , the main road which leads through the heart of the Lake District linking Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick. Staveley is 10 miles from Junction 36 of the M6—a 10 minute journey.
